About Us

Founded in 1976 Michigan NAVHDA is a local chapter of The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA).

We are one of three chapters in Michigan (Southeast Michigan Chapter and Northern Michigan Chapter) and our members are generally located in the southwest portion of the state.

Volunteer & Non-Profit

From our international board, to the highest level of judges and on down to local chapters, all of NAVHDA is an entirely volunteer-run, not-for-profit community. You can learn more about our international parent organization here.

Community Focused

NAVHDA started with the principle "I'll help train your dog and you help train mine". Today we continue that approach by fostering, promoting and improving access to the training, testing and education of versatile hunting dog owner/handlers.

Local Partners

We are a member of both Michigan Hunting Dog Federation and Michigan United Conservation Club (MUCC). Both organizations support responsible dog owners and hunters and work hard to protect our hunting rights while promoting habitat management and land access initiatives.

Chapter Board

Each chapter has a board of volunteer officers who help manage and organize training, testing, fundraising and other community efforts—below is our current Michigan NAVHDA team of officers.
